Cupcake Bouquet

My sister asked me about a week or so ago to make some cupcakes
 for my nephews school
Of course I said yessss with no hesitation!
Not just because I will be making some baked goods,
but because its for my NEPHEWW! :)
anddd I would do anything for that kid!

My sister originally wanted me to make "bunny" cupcakes
I knew everyone and their dog had already been there done that;
Therefore I did something better

I found something I wanted to do that was still spring-y/Easter-y
and didnt tell her what I was doing

Introducing the CUPCAKE BOUQUET
(or as Logan would say Boutique HAHAHA inside joke )

I started at 4 PM after work.
Made one batch of cupcakes- they didnt turn out like I wanted
it was a new recipe-- not good

5:30PM
then I made another batch of vanilla cupcakes with sprinkles-- or confetti cake
Welll I just bought new pans that hold 2 dozen
Baked them for 10 mins and they were already done!
More done than they needed to be-- well I used the ones I could use

At this point the boys showed up at my house and we were going to go to our favorite spot

HIGHTS TAVERN

I still had a LOT to get done

I frosted a few more and started putting them on the skewers
and they would fall apart and crumble to the ground...
AWESOME...
At this point I was about to give up and just make the damn bunnies

8:45PM
Then I started from scratch yet again--
This time made chocolate cupcakes
in my original pans I refuse to do away with after 4 years
These turned out fine

9:30PM
Made a run to Walmart and to get some food that wasnt sugar
Bought a styrofoam half circle and more powdered sugar to make more butter cream

Got the cupcakes frosted with the Help of the boys!
and got the cupcakes on the styrofoam and it turned out beautiful!
I think the boys had fun making fun cupcakes :)

12:55 AM
I finally laid down in bed with just a few hours left before I had to be up for work

But it SOOOOOO worth it! My sister loved them!  And so did Ryder Roo!

This was one of my favorites that didnt make the cut--
It was a bit toooooo top heavy :) Butttt it looked pretty

Rumor Has it

Since last thursday,

I have decided to make stickers and business cards for
cupcakes and cakes that I make for people

The name of the company I decided on was:

The story behind the name:

I found this name fitting because I only do it by word of mouth
Also I found it to be marketable
People will remember the name because it was a popular
song a few months back by Adele
So they hear the name they sing the song and it sticks

Laws in regards to selling baked goods out of your home is the following:

(6) A private home or other area where food that is not potentially hazardous food is prepared: (a) For sale or service at a religious, charitable, or fraternal organization's bake sale or similar function; or (b) for sale directly to the consumer at a farmers market if the consumer is informed by a clearly visible placard at the sale location that the food was prepared in a kitchen that is not subject to regulation and inspection by the regulatory authority;

I also follow a lot or close to all the rules and regulations in regards to health does
  • Everything I use to prepare is stainless steel
  • Everything is sanitized
  • No sponges are used in the process of clean up
  • I store baked goods in a concealed case for freshness
  • If I open any sort of product I use to bake with,I store it back in a container for freshness and mark the date I opened it
  • Eggs and dairy products used are all pasteurized and comply with grade A standards
  •
This is all done to guarantee freshness and safety for the people I bake for---

I have never sold them for more than what the ingredients cost--
Sometimes less-- or I give them away--
I do it because I like to do it for people and I only do it by request
The recipes I use are for public view.. I find a recipe and I tweek it or "Doctor it up"
They are never exactly like the one I find

Thanks to everyone for who has supported me so far

Story behind the baker--

Good Morning Foodies, family, and/ or friends,

The name is Jessica--
Busy, workaholic and fun loving girl-- Always trying something new
Below are a few of my friends-- I spend alot of my time with these 3 gentleman-- You will hear me refer to them a lot :)-- Joey, Logan, and Casey-- they are usually my guinea pigs--

I have a hearty obsession with my nephew, baking/cooking, vinyl records, and my dog.

Starting from an early age, I loved being in the kitchen. My grandma Vicki was the one who really showed me the ropes on baking. My parents were divorced when I was pretty young. My mom moved out of state which left my dad a single father to 2 kids under the age of 10.

After school we would ride the bus to my grandmas house and thats where all the lessons came from.
Before my dad met my now step mom, I was the one who did the cooking for our little 3 member family. It usually ended up being macaroni and cheese, corn dogs, spaghetti, chicken nuggets, and ect. My brother was a very picky eater when he was young!

My dad has been such a trooper with my experiments :)

One time in particular I was about 14 years old and i was going to make a Loaded baked potato soup
Needless to say I burnt it a little and I tried to "doctor" it up-- I added Liquid smoke and kept adding spices and ect to it.. It was nottttt goood! But he sat down and still ate a bowl of it and told me how good it was, Even though I knew it wasnt.. :)

My goal in life is to do what I love--
I want to love to work-- Not work to live

The best part of baking and cooking is to watch the person take the first bite, see their eyes light up and they fall in love with food.

As in the words of my friend Jordan "You made me a believer!" - after taking a bite of her Red Velvet Cheesecake.

Everytime I deliver a sweet treat to someone- I make them either take a picture of themselves taking that first bite and I make a photo collage-- Its something a little different but its kind of fun :) This is something that was just recently started-- Thanks to my friend Toni- She kind of inspired me!

My goal is to get a legitimate business going--
I want to own my own cupcake bakery
Selling cupcakes, beer, and small lunches/dinners

My age group I think it would target is  between 20's- late 30's

Right now I am baking for friends and family for fun
I sell them to people who ask--
In May I have an order for a couple graduations
1 in particular needs over 300 cupcakes! YIKESSS going to be a challange but im excited :)

This coming farmers market I would love to start selling them at a booth

Its my passion and first love--

Next time: I will share a recipe and How-to's for my favorite recipe :)
